Microsoft 365 Cloud Engineer to join our team in

Washington, DC. The ideal Microsoft Office 365 Support Engineer will have experience in providing technical expertise on all the Microsoft 365 services. While this position is remote, a preference is for candidates commutable to Washington, DC. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide technical expertise on Microsoft 365 services: Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Multi-factor Authentication, and Single Sign On.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes for areas of responsibility.
  • Research various security incidents, their cause and effects. Work with Service Desk, Desktop Support, Server, Information Security, and Network Operations team members as appropriate to troubleshoot, resolve, and document specific internal incidents and/or breaches within established SLAs.
  • Prior experience migrating to Microsoft 365 and/or implementing a hybrid solution, as well as proven ability to evaluate the current environment and develop technical and business processes to migrate thousands of Exchange 2016 on-premises mailboxes to Exchange Online.
  • Expert level administration and configuration skills for Microsoft 365 Exchange Online in a hybrid environment.
  • Expert level administration and configuration skills in Azure AD design, development, networking and integration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Functional knowledge of backup solutions as they relate to Exchange (Online and On-Premises).
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
  • Performing Active Directory and Exchange Server 2016 deployments and decommissions.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for the mail flow and network design, IP address and port traffic data, and service communications information documentation for the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Review and respond to security events and alerts.
  • Azure AD Connect/AD FS experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, schema modifications, domain creation and management.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) resource on Office 365 environment.
  • Resolve reactive support request escalated from services delivery team.
  • Supporting the migration of AD user objects and other data to Microsoft 365.
  • Supporting integrated archiving and backup solutions to meet high availability SLAs, as well as security and legal requirements for the organization.
  • Supporting the creation and management of security groups, email-enabled security groups, and distribution lists, including restricting and moderating distribution lists.
  • Analyzing and developing innovative resolutions for complex problems involving high availability and/or performance at the system level.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills and adaptability are a must.
  • Ability to maintain open and constant communication with internal employees, contractors, customers, managers, and others as needed.
  • Implementation of advanced functions of Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance center.
  • Practical knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365 solutions.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Passion for technology with 5 years of technical experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365, Exchange Server and Active Directory.
  • Direct experience migrating from on-premises to cloud storage (SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Direct experience with on-premises Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Hybrid deployment.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Functional knowledge of backup solutions as they relate to Exchange.
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, schema modifications, domain creation and management
  • Practical knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Windows Server, Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Direct experience with on-premises Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Exchange Hybrid deployments.
  • Due to the client requirement, a candidate must be a United States Citizen and able to obtain or currently possess a U.S. Government clearance at the Public Trust.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Experience with Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises.
  • Experience with IronPort
  • Experience with Zix
