Program Management Specialist, SeniorThe Challenge:

Do you love guiding a project as it develops from concept to completion? Do you have the attention to detail needed to catch issues and course correct? With deliverables on the horizon and a budget to keep in check, project teams need guidance with vision and focus. That's why we need you, a program management specialist with the skills to provide thought leadership and expertise in supporting a United States Navy client with the acquisition and sustainment management of Acquisition Category (ACAT) Business Category (BCAT) programs. Apply project management best practices to manage the cost, schedule, and performance of DON IT systems. Lead the development of program documentation and other required reporting. Complete assigned tasks typically of high visibility and work products inform senior executives in the DoD chain of command. Work with DoD IT stakeholders to understand applicable policies and requirements. Coordinate with requiring government activities and contractor personnel to meet project milestones and minimize risk. Develop and implement schedules, and monitor those plans to manage resources and mitigate risk. Identify issues, develop recommendations for issue resolution, and escalate status updates to client leadership.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience with federal IT program management and acquisition management for programs across the acquisition life cycle, including cost, schedule, and performance
  • Experience supporting DoD Acquisition Category (ACAT) or Business Category (BCAT) programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with adjusting to shifting priorities and solving problems quickly
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree
  • Ability to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within 90 days of hire

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Navy programs
  • Experience with system and software development or implementation concepts
  • Experience with building relationships through interpersonal and teamwork expertise
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA PM Level III Certification
