Job Description

In this role as a Senior System Architect, we are looking for a professional who can determine systems architectural design of the datacenter and Virtualization environment. Ideal candidate will have expertise with Colocation and remote hosted datacenters, Disaster Recovery as a Service, and cloud based technologies such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. Candidate will also be a subject matter expert in VMware and other virtualization technologies. Candidate should be familiar with Server hardware configuration ideally Cisco UCS. You will be responsible for managing projects and support queues for solutions and services. You will get the opportunity to consult with other teams for incident solutions which will enable you to be more proactive when needed to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve system performance issues. This associate will also work closely with other System Engineers and support teams to mentor them through diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems to support the business. Working Environment Hybrid & Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered This position offers a Hybrid & Onsite working environment. Meaning you will split working time between a Cerner office or client site and remote. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will not offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-Hybrid

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 2 years system engineering and/or system architecture work experience
    • At least 6 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of professional engineering experience (preferably in a Data Center Facility environment).
  • At least 4 years of VMware Experience
  • Linux and Windows system administration experience.
  • Modern data center design experience.
  • Data center capacity and growth planning, including rack and server layout as well as power and cooling.
  • Work with our co-location providers to design cage layouts, provision power and cooling for expansions as well as new deployments.
  • Datacenter, VMware Certifications

Expectations
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation for IT Works only
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
