SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for delivery of very large revenue generating customer facing digital technology related ecommerce programs, with multimillion dollar cost impacts and multi-year delivery schedule. The position reports to the Sr Dir IT Sys Design & Dev Mktg and will support planning, coordination, and managing of multiple business transformation initiatives. The role will focus on building customer and revenue systems for the future in a technology-enabled and data-driven portfolio. This role also manages some of the resources, manages stakeholder expectations, organization change management to deliver on various key workstream activities.

The Sr. Program Manager will directly manage resources such as program managers and business analysts. They must excel in a collaborative environment and distill complex problems and details into actionable work that will be complex and vary in both strategic focus and tactical execution. The position leverages business acumen, leadership experience, and technical skills to deliver data driven results. They must be comfortable interfacing and driving delivery at all levels of the organization to be successful.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the end-to-end program management oversight of strategic, high-profile software development technology related transformation initiatives.
  • Lead portfolio workstreams in a cross-functional, time-sensitive environment, including integrated schedule management, business roadmap updates, steering committee meetings, executive status reports, performance dashboards and trend analyses.
  • Apply PMO standards to advance the Operations portfolio and business case maturity around governance, document standards, quality controls, stage gates, and facilitation of project prioritization meetings as appropriate, including advising on Operations RFPs.
  • Maintain firsthand knowledge of developing business and technology strategies and advancements to ensure nuances and dependencies are fully understood and addressed. Anticipate and identify business opportunities and challenges, responding with an integrated program mindset.
  • Provide coordination of week-to-week progress of the Operations Transformation program - including status reporting, aggregating roadmaps and timelines, budgets and performance metrics.
  • Participate in weekly program meetings across technical and business workstreams and surface key insights for executive decision making across programs.
  • Utilize a data driven approach to assess and support business and technology improvement strategies. Support, train and mentor others on business analysis, data management, and performance metrics, business process methodologies and tools.
  • Foster a workforce mindset of operational excellence to deliver data-driven improvements within Operations.
  • Routinely identify, assess, and develop issue tracking and risk mitigation plans for events that could impact the success of the program.
  • Build performance mechanisms to track improvements, reporting against financial, operational and customer experience goals.
  • Employ strong collaborative problem-solving skills evidenced by results in past positions.
  • Must be equally effective at delivering through others as well as through own individual efforts, collaborating with IT teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and sponsors to monitor, track and drive delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 9-12 years of experience in program management or product management on technical cross-functional projects.
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Extensive experience with Agile and SAFe practices.
  • PMP Certification in good standing
  • Experience managing a cross-functional team on large projects ($10M+).
  • Hands on experience managing and reporting on Scope/Schedule/Budget/Risks/Issues for large IT development programs; Strong vendor management experience including contract management, Statements of Work, RFP/RFI, proposal reviews; Familiarity with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodology, test execution, documentation, and readout of results.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategy and technology roadmaps, leading matrixed teams, managing process improvement initiatives, driving Quality Assurance programs, and interfacing routinely with C-level technology and business stakeholders. Ability to coach, mentor, develop and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Expertise with forming project bottom-up cost estimates, implementation plans, vendor management, contingency and risk mitigation planning, project estimation and tracking, program- and executive-level reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Technology, Operations, Information Management, or relevant course of study.
  • 15 years of software development technology-based program management experience.
  • PgMP Certification.
  • Experience managing programs in the transportation industry environment

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Strong PowerPoint and SharePoint skills desirable.
