Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Interns will be placed on a specific team within the KIPP DC headquarters office and will work on a project or set of projects in addition to providing general support to their team and to KIPP DC through administrative and organizational tasks. Teams that may host interns for the summer of 2021 are listed below. In your cover letter, please note which team(s) you are interested in.

  • Academic (create and organize literacy instructional resources that support coaches, leaders, teachers and students)

  • Knowledge & Learning (support the preparation and execution of high-quality ongoing professional development for both residents and teachers who will begin their first year of lead teaching)

  • Data & Student Information (assist in setting up KIPP DC’s student data system for the new school year as well as helping our instructional technology team set up online learning platforms)

  • Finance (support payroll and grant projects, and other finance functions)

  • Technology (assist with internet and Chromebook support for students and staff)

  • Operations (support school-based COVID work to ensure compliance; support KIPP DC’s virtual learning model)

  • Facilities (support in facility evaluation and systems improvement)

  • Recruitment (assist in projects related to cultivation and New Hire Orientation)

  • Human Resources (support management of benefits, payroll, and other human resources functions)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school degree required; current undergraduate or graduate students preferred

  • Dedication to KIPP DC’s mission and core values

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Willingness to take initiative; belief that no job is too big or too small

  • Willingness and desire to learn; team player with a positive and collaborative attitude
