Provides daily and long-term management of software managed within the customer environment. This includes planning, monitoring, recording, and tracking software licenses to ensure compliance with license agreements and usage standards, service agreements, maintenance, and warranties. Assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. Develop and implement procedures for tracking IT software assets across the enterprise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop software asset management standards, plans, and procedures.
  • Enter and maintain information on software assets into the approved asset tracking system to address budgeting, software compliance an inventory, contracts (maintenance and service agreements), and cost.
  • Provide recommendations for software procurements based on utilization and support needs.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to forecast future technology needs.
  • Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services.
  • Define software configuration standards and evaluation criteria to aid the purchase and acquisition of new software assets.
  • Define metrics, gather data, and reports effectiveness of IT software asset management processes
  • Provide recommendations for improvements that will aid in effectively and efficiently managing software assets throughout the enterprise.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with IT software procurement, purchasing, and asset management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software asset life cycle management processes planning, acquisition, deployment, monitoring, and disposal.
  • Experience knowledge utilizing and implementing software asset management tools, including automated discovery.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and electronically.
  • Must be detailed oriented to ensure accuracy of asset assignments, inventories, and reporting.
  • Must have a positive and patient customer service attitude.
  • Must be able to lead, inspire, and mentor a multi-disciplined team of both on-site and remote staff.
  • Desired-CITAM: Certified IT Asset Manager or CSAM: Certified Software Asset Manager.
  • Must be able to obtain agency suitability clearance prior to start date.
