Infrastructure Tech Support Manager

Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (RedHat and Windows). Provide software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Assist junior resources, O&M and Help Desk teams to support intermediate level troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides knowledge in design, architecture, development and administration. Monitor existing systems for structural integrity. Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software. Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for glitch detection and other issues. Provide technical direction to IT support staff. Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety. Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention, Create scalable, automated solutions for our customer base. Establish multi-platform versions of the software package. Write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability. Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies. Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met. Evaluate hardware and software and resolve LAN/MAN/WAN network related problems. Overall responsibility for leading the program, department, or functional area as designated. Oversees. directs, and mentors subordinate staff; communicates job expectations and enforces organizational policies, procedures and core values; responsible for recruiting staff, approving timecards, and conducting performance reviews and disciplinary measures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.8-10 years of experience in Information Technology with 2-4 years of experience managing IT staff.

  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate technical issues. Advanced proficiency in System Operations and Pega Operations. Advanced knowledge of issued hardware and/or software products and excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals required. Ability to get team members to work together to accomplish tasks. Stays up to date technically and applies new knowledge to job. Ability to think long-term and establish achievable action plans. Actively looks for ways to help people in the most efficient manner. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
