SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director DT, Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) is responsible for delivering all Digital Technology (DT) solutions for Amtrak's Strategy, Planning and Accessibility (SPA) and Capital Delivery (CD) organizations. These business units are responsible for real estate, stations, facilities strategy, planning, capital construction, expansion initiatives in support of service lines, sustainability, and ongoing management. Amtrak is a diverse enterprise with nearly 1000 different operating locations and facilities which require a wide variety of technology services. Amtrak acts as a property developer, manager, and landlord with a capital budget for development and construction projects that exceeds $300M annually.

As Service Offering Lead for Integrated Workplace Management Systems, develop roadmaps and deliver projects for DT applications, data integration, and analytics/reporting solutions to support SPA and CD business processes. This includes applications for construction project management, facility asset management, real-estate lease management, space planning, sustainability, building management, and building automation systems, among others.

The Director will oversee a DT capital delivery portfolio averaging over $3M annually. To continue growing these services, the Director will develop existing talent and hire new resources with demonstrated experience delivering Integrated Workplace Management System solutions for the business units.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • IT application strategy, roadmap, planning, and project delivery for Strategy, Planning, Accessibility and Capital Delivery departments.
  • Collaborate with disparate DT Service Owners to effectively plan, scope, budget, monitor, and deliver complex, cross-functional technology solutions for the business units.
  • Engage business customers in SPA and CD to understand their needs and serve as the DT Service Owner to drive their strategic technology objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 11+ years of relevant work experience in IT systems implementation, technology integration, and application deployment. 15+ years' directly relevant experience or combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years' experience in real estate and asset management lifecycle including engagement with IT architects, developers, and business subject matter experts to deliver integrated workplace management services.
  • Demonstrated experience working with building/facility management vendors to support technology systems and to transition new systems to internal and vendor managed support processes.
  • Ability to engage with business executives and outside stakeholders at the executive level.
  • Strong facilitation skills and control presence in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent project and program management skills and superior oral and written communications.
  • Excellent team building and collaboration skills, motivating resources across teams
  • Expertise in managing and delivering quality end user support with a high degree of "customer satisfaction"
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex technical issues into language that Sr. business executives can easily comprehend
  • Ability to quickly and creatively solve problems that will enable construction, application deployment, and IT infrastructure projects to hit their deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure a situation, envision solutions, and organize and implement change that will benefit Amtrak.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree
  • 11+ years of relevant work experience in IT systems implementation, technology integration, and application deployment.
  • Prior experience as a people manager directing employees and providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development.
  • 11+ years of experience in large program management including scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
