Are you ready to join our team?SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director Digital Technology (DT) Integrated Technology for Design and Construction is responsible for delivering all DT services for Amtrak's Strategy Planning & Accessibility (SPA) and Capital Delivery (CD) departments. These business units are responsible for real estate, stations, and facilities strategy, planning, construction, and ongoing management. Amtrak is a diverse enterprise with nearly 1000 different operating locations and facilities which require a wide variety of technology services. Amtrak acts as a property developer, manager, and landlord with a capital budget for development and construction projects that exceeds $300M annually. Deliver DT services to support station and facility construction projects. This requires engagement with business owner and architecture/design teams to assess requirements and drive the technology vision for those projects and significant collaboration across the DT Service Owner organization to deliver the right technology including data networks, physical security, video surveillance, access control, communications, display technology, collaboration technology, building automation, and customer facing services. Programs in this area are high visibility, multi-year, "mega" projects with capital budgets ranging from $10s of Millions to $1B. Develop and evolve the DT service catalog/standards for stations, facilities, and infrastructure construction projects so businesses can quickly assess the scope of technology services needed to meet their business operations strategy. Partner with SPA and CD business owners and DT Innovation to develop a long-term Strategy for Smart Building Technology. Oversee a DT capital delivery portfolio averaging over $7M annually. To continue growing these services, the Director will develop existing talent, hire and/or co-source with vendors for new resources with demonstrated experience delivering integrated technology solutions for facilities, real estate, and construction initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Amtrak stations, facilities, real estate, and infrastructure construction project DT services delivery.
- Manage DT services capital project portfolio of $7M annually.
- Collaborate with disparate DT Service Owners to effectively plan, scope, budget, monitor, and deliver complex, cross-functional technology solutions for SPA and CD.
- Engage business customers in SPA and CD to understand their needs and serve as the DT Service Offering Lead to drive delivery of technology to meet their strategic technology objectives.
- Continually evolve the DT Service Catalog for SPA and CD to include trainset facilities, operations centers, training centers and infrastructure (bridges and tunnels).
- Bachelor's Degree plus 11+ years of relevant work experience in IT systems implementation, technology integration, and application deployment. 15+ years' directly relevant experience or combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 7+ years' experience in construction project management lifecycle including engagement with architects, designers, and construction project managers to delivery integrated technology services.
- Demonstrated functional experience with Data Networking solutions including GPON/Wi-fi deployed in large buildings and with 3rd party Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for wireless access.
- Demonstrated functional experience with building security and automation systems including surveillance, access control, and system monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience working with building/facility management vendors to support technology systems and to transition new systems to internal and vendor managed support processes.
- Ability to engage with business executives and outside stakeholders at the executive level.
- Strong facilitation skills and control presence in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient level project and program management skills and superior oral and written communications.
- Excellent team building and collaboration skills, motivating matrixed resources across teams without direct reporting relationships
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of architecture design and construction processes
- Ability to translate and communicate technical issues into language that senior executives can easily comprehend

- Master's Degree
- Prior experience as a people manager directing employees and providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development.
- 11+ years of experience in large program management including scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
