We are recruiting for a senior level Health Systems Analyst to work as a Mental Health Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support Department of Veterans Affairs' initiatives to provide best value healthcare and professional consulting services to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The Analyst will support activities for a study to provide an assessment of the feasibility and advisability of creating a new part of the suicide prevention program in the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Qualified candidates will have experience developing and implementing business processes for healthcare organizations, preferably for veterans. Prior experience with mental health and suicide prevention is required.

Role and responsibilities include:
  • Support analysis to determine the effectiveness of reorganizing suicide prevention coordinators and creating a suicide prevention coordinator program office
  • Supporting the diagnosis of current problems affecting business processess and support efforts for redesigning, reconstructing, and monitoring processes to ensure effectiveness based on feasibility and advisability
  • Conduct analysis on policy and organizational changes that relate to mental health and suicide prevention
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of appropriate business processes within the organization
  • Support analysis of future state concepts that consider operational impacts on suicide prevention programs and projected impacts on Quadruple Aim outcomes consisting of access, quality, experience, and cost
  • Assess effectiveness of established organizational structure, staffing ratios, and duties and responsibilities in relation to suicide prevention programs and services
Requirements include:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Current security clearance or eligibility to obtain Veterans Administration (VA) suitability approval to access agency computer systems and facilities required to start work; current VA credentials highly preferred
  • Master's degree required; Studies in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
  • 10+ year of related experience supporting large-scale Integrated Healthcare Systems with substantive programs focused on Veterans including:
    • 5 years of specialized experience in mental health and suicide prevention
    • 2+ years in a role other than clinical provider
  • Prior experience with VHA and VHA Medical Center Operations is preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Veterans Service Integrated Network (VISN) is preferred
  • Experience with clinical and business processes within the VHA and affiliated healthcare education systems
  • Experience supporting VA or a federal government health-related program
  • Ability to clearly communicate and exchange information with co-workers, teammates, stakeholders, and other personnel, as required
  • Proficiency working across the Microsoft Office Suite
