Physicist CWMD/CBRN
DC, Washington 20032 Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen, Current Security Clearance or Eligibility to Obtain, Secret Skills: Physicist, CWMD, CBRN, Radiological, Nuclear, Defense Systems, PRDs, SPRDs, RIIDs, RPMs, ANSI StandardsWe are recruiting for a Physicist with CWMD/CBRN expertise to work in support of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) activities. Qualified candidates will have expertise with chemical, biological, nuclear, and health security threats. Location Note: This position may be located elsewhere in the U.S. with telework. Preference will be given to candidates in the Wash, DC metro area. Role and responsibilities include:- Lead the radiation/nuclear (RN) design, planning, executing, analyzing and reporting requirements associated with Test and Evaluation (T&E) for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense systems such as PRDs, SPRDs, RIIDs and RPMs.
- Conduct complex analysis to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of project work to meet project technical requirements and laboratory data quality objectives.
- Lead the development of characterization and data analysis plans.
- Perform scientific and engineering modeling of sensor systems and untested technologies.
- Perform radioactive/nuclear relative data analytics to characterize backgrounds, determine patterns, and provide domain awareness.
- Support efforts to develop methods that identify anomalies to support targeting and interdiction.

- Current Security clearance is preferred: will consider qualified candidates with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's/Master's degree and in Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent years of experience in a related discipline
- 10+ years of CBRN/Chem Bio experienced with a bachelor's degree (a master's degree in a related discipline may be substituted for two years of experience)
- Experience in DHS or DoD Science and Technology
- Understanding of T&E events that span the DHS 102-01 Acquisition Life Cycle including limited characterization (LC), developmental testing (DT), Operational Testing (OT), and Regression Testing
- Expertise on ANSI Standards 42.43 and 42.48
