SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Technical Director Data Architecture is responsible to understand and analyzes the data needs of the company and developing a common understanding of the key data for each business domain that drives the enterprise. The role will work with business and technology leaders to ensure data usage is appropriate, and will make decisions on appropriate technologies to use for various use cases ranging from transactional data to streaming data.

This role will play a key role in data management to work with various stakeholders to make sure technologies and approaches are appropriate support the intended use of the data. In addition, this role will collaborate with Information Security to ensure data is protected adequately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for collaborating with Service and Business owners to create a data architecture and technology plan.
  • Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Create a strategic data view of the enterprise, identifying key information for all business units
  • Ensure projects and programs are adhering to the strategic view, and are consist in their use of data
  • Develop an operating model with the architecture team to ensure the strategic vision of data is incorporated into solution architecture
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts to incorporate their viewpoint into analytics planning
  • Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
  • Evaluate technologies used to store and transmit to ensure fitness for purpose
  • Collaborate with analytics team to define technologies and approaches to data management and governance
  • Demonstrable implementation experience of scalable cloud data platform technologies including but not limited to (Amazon Web Services, Azure, SAP S/4HANA, Informatica etc.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 11+ year's relevant experience or equivalent work experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in business systems, development and/or support functions with a focus on Architecture and Technology Strategy.
  • Client expectation management, Program management, Financial management and Technology product delivery experience is required.
  • 11+ years of relevant technical and business managerial experience with 2 to 3 years leading an Architecture Practice.
  • May require knowledge of one processes/services. Business experience should include assignments in multiple business and technical processes.
  • Must have an intuitive understanding of how data and information can solve business problems
  • Must have expert knowledge as described in amendment.
  • Requires leadership experience in managing architecture teams and influencing executive level management and key stakeholders.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple architecture engagement and effectively plan and use staff to ensure the architecture view
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, work well with others in an integrated team environment, and must be self-motivated.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or similar relevant field
  • 13+ years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience working in large complex companies that heavily rely on real time 24x7 IT operations to successfully service external customers.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
