Lead DBA - Cloud Migration
DC, Washington 20535 Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen, Current Security Clearance, Secret Skills: Cloud Migration, DBA, DoD, USAF, IaaS, Paas, AWS, Azure, Database AdministrationWe are seeking a Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to work in support of an enterprise cloud migration effort. This work is supporting a federal government program for automation capabilities in a DoD/USAF environment. The DBA will ideally have experience supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (Paas) solutions. Prior experience supporting USAF technology is preferred. Role and responsibilities include:- Support database administration and architect solutions for applications to be migrated
- Interact with stakeholders and application owners for functional, business, and technical contacts
- Provide advisory and educational support for DBA processes, roles, and responsibilities during the migration project
- Provide support and Q&A for questions related to the DBA process and solution architecture
- Work with application teams and other internal project teams to resolve discrepancies and gaps
- Support scheduling and reviews with application owners to schedule workloads
- Provide support for technical migration approaches to identify migration patterns and support dependent workloads for migration events
- Support the process to track, review, and approve requested updates to the agreed migration schedule for DBA related items
- Provide documentation and tracking for completion of migration
- U.S. Citizenship
- Current security clearance (secret at a minimum)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience providing database administration and technical leadership supporting an enterprise environment
- Experience in a shared service environment is a plus
- Experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure is required
- Experience supporting cloud migrations
- Experience with automation capabilities is highly desired
- Prior work supporting USAF is a plus
