We have an opening for a Speech Language Pathologist on our Laurel, Maryland campus.

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide diagnostic and therapeutic speech and language services to students. In addition, SLP will serve as a consultant to teachers and other staff regarding the development and implementation of speech and language and language art services.

Required Credentials:

- Hold a valid school speech-language pathologist license issued by the Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech-Language Pathologists

- Obtains and maintains reading certifications

Skills and Qualifications:

Assists teachers in developing language curriculum and teaching strategies

Monitors classroom language programs by direct participation, observation and/or conferences

Serves as a resource for materials and methods

Attends IEP eligibility and other student meetings

Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members

Develops a system for identifying, as well as administering diagnostic tests to those students requiring more extensive assessments, and prescribes teaching strategies based on the assessment

Provide direct remedial instruction to an individual or small groups of students on short term basis

Provides speech/language evaluations

Develops and implements an individualized therapeutic program (part of the IEP) for each student receiving speech/language services

Provides individual/group/classroom speech/language therapy

Provides services in a variety of on and off campus settings

Provides consultative speech/language therapy

Maintains files on each student seen for speech/language therapy

Provides quarterly, mid-year, and end of year progress reports

Trains classroom and program staff

Acts as a resource for teaching staff in the area of speech language and language arts instruction

Performs other duties as assigned
