Emerging Technologies Architect and Senior Developer 10+ Years of experienceRemote with the possibility of infrequent onsite meetings in downtown Washington D.C. JOB SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIESServe as Emerging Technologies Products lead reporting to the company CTO and directing one or more emerging tech products. Direct and mentor junior developers, and will roll up your sleeves and do hands-on work related to machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain, microservices and agile tooling. Define architecture and tasks breakdown for developers to build products and technology prototypes. After products are built, assist the marketing team take these products to market, and help other technology leads use these products in their client delivery for large-scale applications.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Work with the CTO to identify multiple emerging tech initiatives running in parallel related to such technologies like AI, ML, blockchain, microservices and serverless computing, IoT, cloud technologies, and agile tooling
Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and validate potential target market
Identify and articulate a vision for each of these products by doing technical design, documentation, and presentations.
Review ongoing engineering efforts to ensure they are aligned with best practices
Perform as a hands-on senior developer as needed to implement scalability
Mentor junior team members in both development and DevOps work including developing CI/CD pipelines
Help implement AWS cloud-based solutions
Help market solutions after they are built
Support internal teams in architecture-related tasks, best practices, and prototyping

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires an individual with a drive and passion for new technologies, staying current in emerging trends, and participating in relevant forums and events. Must be flexible, able to work in a highly collaborative environment, juggle multiple tasks at once, and work independently and collaboratively as needed. Superior interpersonal skills and strong communication skills are critical and you should be comfortable working directly with the Project Manager to support emerging client needs as well. Specific skills and experience for this high performing individual include:

10+ years’ experience with open-source application development stacks
10+ years’ experience with development on either Python or Java
5+ years’ experience leading emerging technology product development
5+ years’ experience with the Amazon Web Services platform
2+ years in implementing Blockchain technologies
2+ years in implementing AI, Machine learning or Deep learning projects
Working knowledge of Sagemaker, Tensorflow or similar tools.
Working knowledge of Blockchain technologies
Agile development experience with either Scrum or Scaled Agile
Experience in designing and building microservices-based solutions
Ability to work with multiple streams of technical work and do context-switching with ease
Ability to work with junior developers to mentor them
Experience with implementing CI/CD solutions for automated deployments
Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools.
Experience in marketing products and doing pre-sales calls
Ability to work independently and direct other staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent documentation skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Google Cloud Platform Experience
Microsoft Azure Experience

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. Suitable experience can be used to substitute for education.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Work location is remote but infrequent onsite meetings (post-pandemic) will be needed
Background and financial history credit checks are necessary for obtaining a public trust clearance if assigned to one of our Government services projects. If you have a criminal record or a history of unpaid taxes/financial default/collections, you will not obtain a public trust clearance
