De Ma Vie French Bakery and Cafe is a new boutique bakery opening soon in Tysons, Virginia. Our focus is on thoughtful, high-quality food made with intention, technique, and care. We are seeking an experienced pastry chef to help bring this vision to life from the beginning.
This is an opportunity to be part of a bakery at its inception and play a meaningful role in shaping the menu, standards, and daily operations.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing and executing a consistent, high-quality pastry menu
Developing and refining recipes (viennoiserie, laminated doughs, cakes, tarts, etc.)
Managing daily prep and production schedules
Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
Assisting with sourcing ingredients and minimizing waste
Collaborating closely with ownership on menu direction and growth
Requirements:
Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker (professional kitchen or bakery experience required)
Strong foundational pastry skills and attention to detail
Ability to work early mornings and weekends
Reliable, self-directed, and calm under pressure
Passion for craft, quality ingredients, and thoughtful execution
