The Food Expeditor is the hub of communication between the back of house and front of house with respect to dish
preparation and execution during service. Strong communication skills, an organized, calm demeanor, and
attention to detail, among other skills, are required for the position.
Daily Operations and Responsibilities:
Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the kitchen
Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
Assist in the final preparation of dishes
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, allergens, and food presentation
Check dishes for accuracy, presentation and temperature before passing to food runners for delivery
Assist in oversight of food runner team by effectively managing their tasks and time during service
Deliver orders when necessary and as per Management request
Eliminate obstacles in service or food preparation areas
Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning
Transfer important information between the kitchen and the service staff
Stock and arrange kitchen utensils and dishes in an orderly manner
Handle glassware and other fragile tableware to prevent breakage
Maintain a customer-focused attitude while performing job duties
Support other tasks as needed and perform other related duties as assigned by Executive Chef or
Management
