Job Overview:

-We are a highly successful and well know local family owned business in the Alexandria area. Were seeking a HR Generalist to join our team to support our back office operations nine different retail businesses. Primary responsibilities include managing Payroll, Benefits, and Full-Life Cycle Recruiting.

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist / Recruiter:

-Process weekly payroll using Paychex Software

-Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments

-Research payroll discrepancies and processes necessary corrections

-Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records

-Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to payroll

-Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave, for all team members

-Facilitate benefits enrollment information session during on-boarding

-Possess full ownership of the employee eligibility process including monitoring, tracking, and notifying team of eligibility status for medical and 401K eligibility

-Review, research, track and reply to employee inquiries regarding benefits

-Manages annual benefits open enrollment

-Communicate with managers to determine hiring needs and post ads online

-Lead day-to-day talent management activities (recruitment and staffing)

-Develop recruiting pipelines in community to include job fairs

-Respond to candidate inquiries throughout all stages of the screening, interviewing, and hiring process, including sending out thank you letters and non-selection letters

-Onboard all new team members and ensure proper employee files are maintained and up to compliance

-Provide staffing and turnover reports

Qualifications of the HR Generalist / Recruiter:

-Two to five years of HR/ recruiting experience

-HR administration and systems: 1-3 years of experience preferred

-Payroll and Benefits administration: 1-3 years of experience preferred

-Detailed oriented, organized and able to multi-task

-Able to maintain absolute objectivity and confidentiality with all employees and all payroll related data

-Ability to manage a high volume and challenging recruiting pipeline

-Proficiency in Microsoft office applications; particularly Excel

-Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
