ART Design Build, an established, award-winning design build firm in Metro DC seeks a Lead Carpenter / Project Manager who is well organized and experienced at running residential remodeling projects. This full-time position is a great opportunity for an ambitious lead carpenter looking to advance with an expanding company.
You must be able to successfully manage all aspects of the remodeling project at our clients' homes. Candidates must have at least 5 years of carpentry experience, a reliable van or truck and tools. We need a team player who puts customer service first, works well with others, and respects the process we follow to complete our projects.
Responsibilities
- Framing, running trim, hanging doors, windows and cabinets
- Reading and understanding plans and performing layouts
- Leading and managing carpenter helpers and trade contractors
- Scheduling and coordinating carpenter helpers and trade contractors
- Ordering, receiving and checking material orders
- Communicating with customers courteously and directing their questions to the proper individuals
- Developing alternate and more efficient means of production
- Detecting and working out design problems
- Producing estimates for change orders
- Doing the final walk thru with the client and creating a final punch list
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience as a residential carpenter
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience running residential projects as a lead carpenter
- Must have reliable van or truck and tools
- Basic computer skills
