SENIOR PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER - (NAVEBS-21-0467-W): Bowhead is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to provide technical strategy support by assisting with defining the technological strategy with the Government technical team of each project: pipeline, tools, and key development procedures. Duties may include: - Evaluating both the Navy Enterprise and the Enterprise Architecture for potential synergies and recommend improvements/enhancements to the portfolio systems. -Assist the Government in the technical analysis and architecture design of Government-approved cloud hosting vendors, including cloud environment architecture, design, and multi-cloud data interchange strategies -Provide technical expertise to assist the Government during upgrades of system configuration, network configurations, data migration, system testing, and remediation to ensure technical compatibility. Advise and assist the Government Technical teams performing implementations of Navy processes into the system platforms. -Provide IA program management support to the program office to ensure compliance with DoD and DON IA policy related to the portfolio systems. -Assist the government in investigating emerging solutions to problems in an assigned technology area and evaluate these solutions against the current technical requirements for potential implementation opportunities. Requirements • A BA/S degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline is required at a minimum. • A minimum of eight (10) years' experience in Systems Engineering is required. • At least five (5) years of DoD Acquisition Program experience within the last 10 years. • Documented experience throughout the entire acquisition lifecycle for at least one ACAT I / ACAT IA / BSC 1 acquisition program is required. • Documented experience with development and maintenance of such documents as system engineering plans, implementation plans, information support plans, capability support plans, and risk management plans is required. • A DAWIA Level II in Information Systems • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Project. • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold and be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
