The Supplier Assurance Director will lead the Supplier Assurance team in ensuring on time, accurate and complete deliveries of product into Office Depot warehouses and stores. The Director is responsible for setting the expectations for the Supplier Assurance team including:Set strategy for the team that supports improving customer experience and overall efficiencies within the Supply ChainDeveloping and implementing key controls, metrics and reporting to minimize risk and improve vendor quality and performanceDetermining prioritization of vendors for greatest improvement to the companyEstablishing and managing processes for the management of vendor relationshipsIdentifying, designing, and implementing process and system improvements to enhance performanceCollaborating with vendors and cross functionally within the organization on a regular basisThis position will also be responsible for 3rd party Operations, which includes the onboarding and order management of our direct ship vendors and wholesale partners.Primary Responsibility:Lead and set strategy for the Supplier Assurance process and teamManage relationships with vendors regarding contractual obligations on lead time, PO arrivals, complete shipments, all contributing to LEOTC metric (lines early on time and complete).Direct meetings with vendors and cross-functional internal partners (Inventory planners, Supply Chain, Merchandising, etc.) to monitor and improve performance.Drive the implementation of 30-day action plans with key suppliers and cross functional internal departments (Logistics, Transportations, Inventory, and Merchandising) for improvement in LEOTC and lead times.Oversee team who will develop, maintain, and enhance the daily tracking, monitoring, and reporting by vendor for LEOTC, lead time, and PO tracking.Determine and monitor execution on priorities based on largest opportunities for improvement (ie highest risk vendors)Oversee 3rd Party Ops team who will work with our direct ship vendors and wholesale partners on the following:Ensure fill rate is at/near contract levels. Work to address any issues preventing acceptable fill rate.Vendor on-boarding: work with EDI to test feeds and ensure our guidelines will be metOwn and revise 3rd party guide to ensure direct ship vendors have agreed to SOPPeriodic vendor audits to ensure SOP is being followedAddress outbound issues resulting in negative customer experience with 3rd party shipments. Root cause and work with approrpiarte parties to prevent from re-occuring.Partner with Supply Chain Analytics, Vendor Compliance for additional metrics and reporting as needed.Examples include but are not limited to: OTD for 3rd party vendors, etc.Identify process and system enhancements to improve KPIs and potentially lower operating costs.Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.Business related discipline (Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Finance) or related experience.Minimum 5 years experience in related fieldKnowledge across multiple business functions including inventory management, supply chain, SC operations, contract sales, retail, ecommerce, and merchandising.Aptitude to learn technical applications quicklyProficient knowledge of PC, particulary Excel and database applicationsStrong analytical abilitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFundamental business knowledge of inventory management, replenishment functions, vendor relations and merchandising practicesMicrosoft OfficeAbility to set strategy, while holding team accountable to enforce.Decision quality and problem solving skills, through innovation, creative thinking, and challenging the status quo.Capability to continuosly improve performance and drive resultsAbility to manage conflict by influencing and adaptability skills (i.e. relationship building, consensus building, flexiblity)Planning by setting clear objectives and goals; measuring against those goals and evaluating resultsStrong attention to detail.Ability to quickly identify an opportunity and a solution in the details, while being able to summarize the issue at a higher level.Pay, Benefits & Work ScheduleOffice Depot and Office Max offers competitive salaries, a benefits package, which includes a 401(k) and more, along with plenty of opportunity to move and grow within our organization!
