- 5+ years of professional web development experience building applications for production
- Experience in building back-end services for web and mobile applications
- Experience with leading the back-end development effort for web and mobile applications using onshore and offshore developers
- Strong experience in design, construction, and deployment of REST and SOAP services
- Experience designing and developing cloud solutions using AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google a significant plus
- Comfortable designing stateless or stateful services on top of cloud infrastructure like AWS
- Strong experience in event-based programming
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and coding best practices
- 5+ years of recent Java experience focused on backend development
- Strong experience with Node.js, GraphQL
- Strong understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem on the front and/or backend
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as vue.js, react.js, angular, etc. a significant plus
- Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
- Strong experience with NoSQL Database, AWS RDS Database
- Experience with single sign-on, session management, user profiles, and user identity and authentication frameworks a strong plus
- Experience with Agile / Scrum development practices and concepts
- Experience using Jira and Confluence, BitBucket / GitHub
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment
- Passionate about writing clean, modular, and unit-testable code
- Experience with troubleshooting and solving performance issues
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and equivalent practical experience
