The role you’ll contribute:The Activities CNA leads therapeutic activities under the supervision of the Activity Director. The programs are organized with the assistant’s input and knowledge of the resident’s individual social, religious, educational, and recreational needs. The Activities CNA must maintain a current certified nursing assistant certification in the state they are practicing.The value you’ll bring to the team:Leads daily programs such as exercise, games, religious services, musical activities, movies, parties, and crafts.
Announces the programs and assists residents to the area of the activity.
Records attendance for each resident and documents individual responses.
Reports residents’ adverse responses to the Activities Director.
Maintains interdepartmental communication to plan special events, outings, etc.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:Must be 18 years of age or older
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
Certified Nursing Assistant License
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Astute observation skills
Ability to follow set rules and protocols
Time management and organizational skills
Sense of responsibility
Desire to work with others
Possess a variety of skills that can enhance residents’ leisure time such as arts and crafts, music, or other talents
Be creative, self-motivated, and have a genuine interest in geriatric residents
Possess patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
