Client in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is actively looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to their team on a permanent basis (Hybrid - 2 Days in the Office). The Linux environment is comprised of Centos 7/8, Ubuntu 14 and Alma 8. They have both physical servers (20), as well as more than 100 in the Cloud (AWS). The client is also looking to hire a professional that is proficient in the following:
- Provide analysis of current infrastructure and recommends upgrades and changes for future growth
- Oversee the installing, configuring, and testing of operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Ensure that all computer systems and infrastructure are operating at the highest levels of availability
- Provide technical direction to IT support staff
- Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention
- Configuring, debugging, and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms
- 5+ years’ experience working with Linux, AWS Cloud, and Linux OS
- Proficient at virtualization platforms such as VmWare, Xen, and KVM
- Strong Knowledge of various Open Source platforms
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Chef)
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience in Cloud technology, preferably AWS
