Dental Receptionist / Treatment Planning Coordinator

Florida, Fort lauderdale, 33301 Fort lauderdale USA

Vacancy expired!

Are you looking for a stable job with full time hours and benefits and a starting salary of over $35,000? Are you looking for a position with the opportunity for quick advancement in a stable secure industry like health/dental?

Do you have the entrepreneurial spirit? Are you forever learning?

If so, our practice may be the place for you. Here's the thing, we don't want an "average person." We want exceptional individuals who are eager to help us achieve our goal of being the best dental practice possible. This includes how we handle our patients on a day to day basis, AND how we operate as a team. You would work in a special environment where we focus on maintaining a positive mindset and looking for solutions rather than whining about problems.

You don’t need to have a ton of experience to fit our qualifications. I’ll be up front with you: the #1 requirement for us is that you fit our entrepreneurial culture.

Please read to the end. Specific instructions about applying included. Only applications following the instructions will be considered.

I want to hire someone who will be a superstar on a small team devoted to providing the best dental care possible to our patients. More than anything else, I'm looking for an attentive, eager, curious, and punctual person who is ready to be a key cog in our dental practice. We hire for the RIGHT PERSON first, not just a set of skills or years of experience (but those don't hurt!).

What sort of work will you be doing?

Communicating With Patients: This is key. Patients may have questions about their dental care, the status of insurance, or a whole host of other things. You will need to provide the information they need in a courteous and professional manner. There's a lot of communicating that goes on in a dental practice. It requires patience and a willingness to just get things done. You'll succeed here if you are the kind of person who just gets things done rather than saying, "I'll call them tomorrow."

Calendar management: Appointments need scheduling, and financial options need to be worked out before any treatment begins.

"Other": This is a small dental practice with seven people and a few part time specialists. Sometimes you need to wear a hat you didn't expect and get an odd job done. If you're the type of person who only does what is in the job description and refuses to do anything else, this is not going to be a good fit for you. We want a team player who will gladly say, "Yes, I can do that."

Our office is different from many other dental offices. We avoid drama - there's no yelling. And we all take responsibility. When something goes wrong, we all step up to help out. This is a TEAM.

The culture is upbeat and positive. Obviously, this is serious work that we do, but we prefer to do it all while maintaining a positive outlook. Everyone gets along really well and you'll feel welcome right away.

Here are the basic qualifications:

You are comfortable on the phone, both calling other people and taking calls when they come in, and you must have a complete command of the English Language. (Both Written and Spoken) Like I said above, communication is really important. And it's not just the phones. You need to be a person who speaks up when something is wrong. The doctors rely on you to be the eyes and ears of the dental practice.

You can keep your cool when we get busy. Our patients are great, but sometimes they are stressed. As long as you keep calm, you receive our full support. (We don't tolerate ANYONE treating our team members poorly.)

You are organized and pay attention to details. You're the person who keeps lists and makes sure everything is moving along smoothly.

You are Internet and technology literate, and you would be comfortable learning new systems.

You can "check your baggage at the door." Basically, you leave drama at home.

You are kind. People who call our office are often fearful or in pain. We make things better for them, not worse. We are patient, helpful, and kind.

You’re a person that is ON TIME.

Bonus qualifications (not required, but they will put you at the top of the pile):

Previous dental experience working as a front office /patient care coordinator or office manager

Softdent experience a plus

Previous experience working as a chairside assistant (or be willing to be cross trained). Knowing what happens clinically allows you to communicate better with patients.

Fluent in Spanish would be cool but it is not a requirement

You can expect to stay busy, but you won't be stretched thin. The leaders of the practice are here to support you and help you succeed.

REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICATION: Please respond with your resume and a detailed answer to the following questions :

1) What is your experience in dentistry either as an employee of a dental office or simply a patient? Describe your ideal dental experience as a patient

2) Explain why you would be a fit for our team?
