Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism, in their journey towards meaningful employment. The Employment Specialist will work closely with clients to provide guidance, resources, and advocacy, ensuring they have the tools necessary to succeed in the workforce.

MUST BE A VOCATIONAL REHAB AND MEDICAID WAIVER APPROVED SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST

Responsibilities

- Conduct assessments to understand the unique needs and goals of each client.

- Develop individualized employment plans that align with clients' skills and aspirations.

- Provide education on job search techniques, resume writing, and interview preparation.

- Facilitate connections between clients and potential employers, advocating for their abilities and strengths.

- Offer ongoing support and mentoring throughout the employment process to ensure the successfull placement of a client and longevity on the job.

- Stay informed about disability employment labor laws and workforce development trends to provide accurate guidance.

- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to enhance support services for clients.

- Document progress and maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes.

Skills

- Strong understanding of workforce development principles.

- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is required

- Knowledge of employment labor laws relevant to persons with disabilities.

- Background in social work and disability services or related fields required.

- Proficiency in recruiting strategies to connect clients with disabilities with suitable job opportunities that will enhance their personal and professional goals.

- Skills in Mental Health counseling can be an asset for supporting clients with related challenges.

- Excellent mentoring abilities to guide clients through their employment journey.

- Strong interviewing skills to effectively assess client readiness for employment.

- Ability to educate clients about workplace expectations and professional development opportunities.

- Provide Pre Employment Training
