The Medical Assistant makes a difference in people's lives, administers prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a Physician.NOTE: CNA's, HHA's, EMT/Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians and Phlebotomist welcome to apply. MUST get certified as a Medical Assistant through NAHP in the first 12 months of employment to qualify!Job FunctionsPrepares exam room, equipment and supplies needed prior/during patient examination

Prepares patient for consultation, taking/documenting vital signs (temp, BP, HR, RR) etc.

Draws blood, collects specimens, and administers injections

Assists with EKG, wound care, and ear lavage

Assists with documentation of HEDIS quality measures

Experience documenting in the patient's electronic medical record

Required QualificationsAn active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA or willing to obtain certification within 1yr of appointment

1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care

Current CPR certification

Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment

Preferred QualificationsBilingual in English and Spanish

Experience with HEDIS

Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience

Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Working hours : Monday to Friday 8AM-5PMAdditional InformationThis role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
