TITLE: Data Science Operations Lead
Location: 100% Remote EST & CST Time Zones 6-month contract w/ possible extension - RTH Our Client is Looking for a Data Science Operations Lead. This is an opportunity for a curious and motivated data scientist to make an impact on our best-in-class risk products by working with our fast-paced and cross-functional team of data scientists, product managers, strategists, and engineers What You'll Do:- You would provide analytical and statistical support to senior members of the team to execute projects supporting all levels of government in civilian services, public health, and public safety.
- You will support product development, research, and prototyping assignments.
- Provide support to more senior Data Scientists and the Analytics team.
- Design and document coding requirements for attribute/feature product development.
- Extract and clean data to support analytic project work.
- Conduct analysis to validate output is coded as designed by other functional areas.
- Apply statistical techniques and work with large data assets to conduct analytic research and data studies, build statistical models and complete various analytic projects.
- Participate in communicating analytic conclusions to both analytic and non-analytic stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including fraud and crime analysts, product management, project management, and technology to execute projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Competency in R, Python, SQL or similar statistical software packages
- Demonstrates competencies in relevant Data Science and/or Statistical frameworks
- Able to apply Machine Learning, Data Mining, and/or Statistical methods to build models.
- must have knowledge in:
- data wrangling
- data mining
- statistical methods
- multiple statistical modeling
- machine learning techniques
- Able to execute standard coding for projects and processes to do the job successfully using company standard toolsets
- Experience processing and manipulating large data sets including merging, slicing, sorting, and constructing new features.
- Strong documentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Proficient interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with a broad range of contacts; from technical staff to management
- Proficient organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure
- Detail-oriented and critical thinker. Works well both independently and with cross-functional teams to execute projects.
- undergraduate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience. Or a Master's Degree.
