Senior Engineer Software - DevOps Job Description

Baxter's Excel Medical business unit has maintained a unique niche in the patient monitoring data retention space for the last 20 years. As part of this high growth initiative, the DevOps Engineer is responsible for helping to design and implement product development processes that expedite software releases while improving quality for the Excel Medical product line.

SCOPE• Applies expert knowledge to the design and development of product development systems• Has a high level of accountability for major elements of a project or initiative• Engages other team members and staff as appropriate in orchestrating changes• Able to provide technical direction or guidance to technical staff in technical areas of expertise• Requires infrequent oversight and feedback on work assignments and progress from supervisor

REQUIRED QUALFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an engineering role working in cross-functional teams• Experience creating and maintaining software build pipelines (automating manual steps and shifting quality left through collaboration with developers and test automation engineers)• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions in a Continuous Integration (CI)/ Continuous Delivery (CD) system• Experience with Git• Experience with building C#, dotnet, MSBuild, MSTest• Strong problem-solving skills• Strong development and coding/ scripting skills• Strong organizational and communication skills• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Experience with Healthcare IT and/or medical device IT solutions• Experience with FDA regulations• Experience working with the full product development lifecycle• Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker• Knowledge of and experience with cloud-hosting technologies and strategies• Knowledge and experience of security standards ISO 27001, NIST and HIPAA• Knowledge of and experience with networking (e.g. VPNs, certificates/PKI)
