Are you ready to join this team and make your impact?Kennel Technicians maintain a safe and sanitary facility by providing humane handling and care for all canines. Kennel Technicians assure all canine nutrition, housing, and basic medical needs are met daily. In this role, you will record and communicate canine health and behavioral issues.The Kennel Technician will report to the Canine Security Manager.You Will:

Examine and observe animals to check for possible signs of illnesses, and injuries

Connect with canine handlers regarding behaviors, physical activities, and habits

Collect and record canine information including weight, physical condition, and food intake

Follow standard operating guidelines for the area in regard to the safe and appropriate use of cleaning agents and procedures

Clean and disinfect kennels and facilities

Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality

Feed and hydrate animals in accordance with dietary needs, schedules, and special feeding instructions

Exercising medium to large-sized canines with high energy as schedules permit

Walk/stand/run for extended periods of time and on uneven surfaces

Handle canine safely at all times

Bend and lift up to 90 lbs. and keep balance when handling the canine or assisting them into a vehicle

Handle and restrain dogs safely for veterinary, medical, or grooming procedures that are performed

You Will Have:

6 months+ of animal handling experience with a professional agency or organization

Hands-on kennel experience

Ability to gain the confidence of animals when restraining them for transport, grooming, and/or minor treatment

Proficiency in writing, social skills, and standard office software programs such as Word processing and spreadsheets

Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:It would be great if you also have:

Knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World property, resources, policies, and procedures

1+ year of experience in positions of growing responsibility within security, military police, law enforcement, canine handling or related field

Related memberships and certifications

Education:

High School Degree/equivalent or higher
