Publixs Information Services (I/S) department is located in Lakeland, Florida and Alpharetta, Georgia and employs over 1000 associates. I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The following position is now available in the Enterprise Deployment Services area of Information Systems: IS Engineer 2 Enterprise Deployment Services involves defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of the Publix information technology architecture to maximize their value. This position will be responsible for the implementation of a replacement enterprise scheduler solution that is used to manage the scheduling, execution, and monitoring of automated jobs and processes in Publix data centers, warehouses, and stores. Some examples of tasks include: Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration, and support System and network management activities Problem determination and resolution Systems security and vulnerability remediation Project team participation, and New technology awareness, research, and system integration. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience Minimum of two years of experience supporting infrastructure software. Experience with various systems management tools to include SCVMM, VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V, etc. Experience with PowerShell scripting Excellent attendance and punctuality record Excellent communication and team skills Be flexible and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership High degree of self-motivation, productivity, commitment and integrity Experience leading medium to large projects from requirements through implementation Good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and to be a team member) Obvious enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work, and a Commitment to Publix and our Mission Minimum of four years of experience supportinginfrastructure software. Good understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies Experience creating, managing, and updating server images, ISOs, clones, and templates Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V as well as VMware ESXi hypervisor platforms Experience with a broad range of server-based technologies including Active Directory, IIS, Virtualization and others Experience working with vulnerability management tools, and remediation activities Experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness Solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure and highly regulated environment to meet business, security, and compliance requirements, and Experience leading large projects from requirements through implementation.
