Publixs Information Services (I/S) department is located in Lakeland, Florida and Alpharetta, Georgia and employs over 1000 associates. I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Engineers on the Network Engineering and Operations team are responsible for maintaining enterprise networking systems and providing support for security systems across the enterprise. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include: Push firewall policies Work on Firewall/Proxy requests and incidents Configure virtual firewalls and add interfaces Configure VLANs on switch trunks and access ports Add static network routes to routers and firewalls Make GTM changes for moving traffic between Data Centers First line escalation for network issues Configuration of Network Equipment ie. Routers, Switches, Load Balancers Perform patching and upgrades on network equipment Perform nighttime validation for network systems Provide onsite support as needed Knowledge transfer with Tier-2 support associates This position is 3rd shift, 12am-10am (four 10 hour shifts).
- Bachelors degree in Network Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical disciplines, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year working experience on Cisco networking technologies
- Must be able to work on-call
- Operations experience with Cisco networks in an enterprise environment
- Operations experience with firewalls and web proxies
- Experience supporting a wide variety of networking components including Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers and Access Points
- Experience with firewalls, Palo Alto, Checkpoint
