I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers.

  • Contribute to the development of annual project portfolio plan and management of application portfolio lifecycle for the IT systems line of business by collaborating with team members, business unit customers, and various IT functional areas to identify requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare cost and benefits, and recommend solutions.
  • Implement portfolio plan for assigned area by managing the definition, design, development, testing, and implementation of business enhancements and maintenance activities for any of the following IT service areas. (Incident and Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management and Discovery, Request Management for Hardware, Software and Access, Certificate Management)
  • Manage vendor relationships for vendors providing services to the business areas and the application team.
  • Negotiate vendor deliverables and costs associated with new projects and project enhancements requiring vendor involvement.
  • Develop project resourcing strategies, allocating budget, staff, tools, and specialized support necessary for the maintenance and enhancement of solutions within assigned area.
  • Act as general contractor on projects to develop appropriate support from various technology and service departments.
  • Provide governance activities on assigned projects to ensure budget, timelines, features, and quality are being managed appropriately.
  • Ensure that application solutions are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
  • Anticipate and identify issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals; develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report to IT and business area management on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts.
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with business customers to ensure processes are integrated to support expected customer service levels.
  • Complete human resource related activities for all associates assigned to the team, including performance evaluations, career counseling, training plans, pay reviews, promotions, hiring, counseling, and terminations.
  • Facilitate the creation of a team environment.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, or other analytical disciplines or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of IT experience, including development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale integrated solutions
  • Two or more years of leadership experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
  • demonstrated strong abilities in IT project management; experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors
  • demonstrated ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives
  • demonstrated ability to manage multidiscipline, high performance work teams
  • demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects, including managing resources across multiple projects to meet goals
  • developed efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve complex business and technical issues.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
  • Basic knowledge of financial management and budgeting.
  • Ten years of IT experience, including development, maintenance, or support of large-scale integrated solutions
  • Experience with Service Now ITSM solutions and a familiarity with the screens, functions and processes associated with enhancing and maintaining those solutions
  • Experience with implementing Service Now technologies such as Discovery, CMDB, incident and problem management, change management and request management and how to integrate these into existing systems and business processes
  • Familiarity with processes for managing sensitive and regulated data and the requirements on how to maintain the security and appropriate controls within a sensitive or regulated system
  • Experience with developing, configuring and supporting high volume, mission-critical applications running within an ITSM solution
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications within a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong negotiations skills and the ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities from multiple customers.
  • Knowledge of the companys business practices and direction, as well as familiarity with the companys products and resources.
