I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Transportation Team is seeking a highly analytical Programmer Analyst who will be responsible for all aspects of the development lifecycle on complex transportation systems. These responsibilities include analysis, design, development, unit testing, and implementation. Additional job responsibilities include:

  • Work independently and within a team environment to complete development efforts
  • Maintain a consistently large and often dynamic workflow
  • Communicate effectively with business team members
  • Document technical design models, specifications and test results
  • Serve as an application expert on assigned application(s)
  • Participate in an on-call production support rotation
The most suitable hire for this position will be a candidate with full development life cycle experience with distributed development, design, and systems and data analytic experience identifying and solving business problems. They exemplify servant leadership and the knowledge, expertise and motivation to drive results.
  • Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical disciplines or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years IT experience designing, developing, or testing enterprise applications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Minimum of 2 years IT experience working with enterprise database management system (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Teradata)
  • Minimum of 2 years full-stack web development experience with the .NET framework including C#
  • Minimum 2 years experience with one or more of the following web technologies: HTML, CSS/Bootstrap, JavaScript, and ASP.NET
  • Experience participating in full development life cycle projects interacting with IT and business SMEs to support system implementations and enhancements while effectively communicating with management, stakeholders, SMEs and project team members
  • Experience promoting collaboration and teamwork, leading by example and contributing to the productivity and morale of the team
  • Experience identifying and supporting process improvements
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to continuously learn
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact successfully with various team members, business area and management
  • Presentation skills to demonstrate recent changes to various team members and business area
  • Experience working in the transportation industry
  • Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
  • Minimum 3 years experience analyzing supply chain business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions with functional knowledge of receiving, shipping, and inventory management
  • Minimum 3 years experience designing enterprise class solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, UML, service-oriented architecture and solution frameworks
  • Minimum 3 years experience in implementing enterprise application using platform services like notification hubs, event hubs, stream analytics, Redis Cache, application insights etc.
  • Minimum 3 years experience of full-stack web development with the .NET framework 4.5 and above including C# and MVC with a passion for and knowledge of emerging technologies
  • Experience installing and administering Java applications on a Unix platform in a highly secure environment
  • Experience with shell scripting
  • Experience with web development including Angular, .Net Core, Micro Services Architecture (MSA), Kafka, Docker, Telerik Splunk, Kubernetes (AKS, Redhat OpenShift, etc.), Azure DevOps, and automation pipelines CI/CD
  • Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with performance tuning of queries and stored procedures in SQL Server Management Studio using indexes
  • Experience designing and developing REST API using .NET WebAPI
  • Automated testing experience, preferably using MS Test and Devops
  • Experience leading simple implementation project solutions
  • Experience in Agile SCRUM systems development life cycles projects
  • Experience and knowledge of project and problem management, change management, and other systems development processes
  • Experience supporting data and process governance of distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards and SOX requirements
  • Good understanding of cloud solution architecture patterns and design principles, of different attributes for cloud application availability and scalability, and the ability to propose optimized design for cloud
