The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. Windows Desktop Engineering involves defining, developing, maintaining and advising on the effective use of the Publix Information technology architecture in the Corporate environment.

  • Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration and support
  • Enterprise system management
  • Problem determination and resolution
  • Project team participation
  • New technology awareness, research and system integration with a focus on system security
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years experience supporting Windows systems and related infrastructure software and hardware in a medium to large environment
  • Experience with multiple hardware vendor platforms
  • In-depth Windows 10 support experience
  • In-depth Office 365 support experience
  • 3 years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases
  • Experience securing diverse technologies, platforms, and applications
  • In-depth experience implementing, migrating, managing and administering Windows 10 desktop operating systems in a large corporate environment
  • Expertise with a broad range of server-based technologies including Active Directory, Enterprise Connect, and Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience supporting desktop productivity software (MS Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Etc.)
  • Experience managing Windows in an enterprise environment (Group Policy, vulnerability detection and remediation, browser security, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple hardware vendor platforms (desktops, laptops, tablets, thin clients and printers)
  • in-depth knowledge of Secure Configuration Management (SCM) methodologies and best practices
  • strong experience with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) interface,
  • experience supporting software and peripherals in the corporate offices, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution facilities,
  • strong experience working in HP Service Manager, working incidents to completion,
  • experience with automating application installation and configuration,
  • in-depth understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies,
  • ability to anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements,
  • ability to resolve complex business and technical issues by making decisions using sound business judgment,
  • experience leading projects from requirements through implementation,
  • experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident/ Problem Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness,
  • solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business and compliance requirements
