Publix is able to offer virtual/remote employment for this position in the following states: FL, GA, AL, TN, SC, NC, VA Seeking for Senior UI Engineer who will play a key role in design and architecture for the flagship Publix.com environment, leveraging technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.JS, C#, ASP.NET, and Sitecore across a core .NET and web skillset. The UI Engineer will partner with other architects and technology decision-makers to guide overall direction of the user interface layer of the site and will work closely with Technical Leads, Application Architects, Software Developers and Delivery Managers in a highly collaborative and Agile environment. You will also be responsible for identifying frontend performance optimization opportunities, analyzing performance experiment results, and surface insights that map performance metrics with business KPIs. Responsibilities will include:- Collaborate with delivery teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices
- Partner with other UI Engineers to continue to drive the development of a modern user interface layer
- Document standards and ensure they are effectively implemented by the development teams and understood by technology partners
- Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for advanced features and designs
- Promote cross team synergy and alignment to optimize code-sharing, improve site performance and increase speed to market
- Actively look for ways for continuous improvement of the technology stack such as improving website performance, reducing error rates, and strengthening the ability to proactively detect production issues impacting customers
- Participate in the setup and analysis of performance-focused experiments and perform ad hoc analysis in service of broader engineering priorities (bot detection etc)
- Ensure Publix customers receive best in class experience on our digital properties
- Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline like Computer Science or years of equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience developing customer-facing websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side technologies
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application development using .NET, ASP.NET, Web API, C#, and SQL stack
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing websites or APIs using the MVC design pattern
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performance tuning websites for large scale use
- Minimum of 3 years of experience understanding and tuning of Google Core Web Vitals
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with source control systems using GIT
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and 8+ years of working experience or no degree and 10+ years of working experience
- 5+ years of experience in application development using .NET, ASP.NET, Web API, C# and SQL stack
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing websites running in a multi-platform distributed environment
- 5+ years of experience as a senior web performance engineer or architect
- Experience with Sitecore Content Management System or other content management systems
- Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Experience with responsive web design
- Experience with synthetic monitoring and analysis tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Speed Curve, and Catchpoint
