I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. As a Middleware Engineer on the Pharmacy Core Systems team, you will be responsible for administering various application servers, installing applications, working with developers to research and troubleshoot issues, automating tasks via programs and scripts, performance tuning applications and assisting our store users by way of trouble ticket analysis. As a technologist, you will work closely with our vendors, our teams product owners as well as other pharmacy team product owners to ensure the applications are performing as optimal as possible in our environments. Responsibilities:

  • Understand multiple technologies and how they are used to enable large scale systems to interact with other large-scale systems
  • Apply this knowledge to perform rapid issue resolution as well as determine root cause analysis for any issues encountered
  • Adapt to a rapidly changing environment, willing to learn new processes and/or technologies quickly
  • Work with our security team to implement security standards
  • Take part in the teams weekly 24/7 on call rotation
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years software engineering experience
  • 1+ years experience administering Oracle WebLogic 12 or JBoss application servers
  • 1+ years experience administering web servers
  • 1+ years experience configuring web server proxies and their connectivity to application servers
  • 1+ years experience in UNIX environments with tools and core utilities including shell scripting
  • Experience with deployment tools, such as Ansible and Octopus
  • Java Development experience
  • SQL Server Experience
  • Microsoft PowerShell experience
  • Experience using the WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST)
  • Spring Boot Applications
  • Additional tools/technologies experience: SPLUNK, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka
