- Design, build, maintain, and support an internal portfolio of tools designed to empower and improve the overall productivity of engineering teams.
- Collaborate with various teams to understand their tooling needs, gather requirements, design and build tools to support their engineering activities.
- Design and develop complex tools and supporting infrastructure to optimize workflows and improve the quality and reliability of systems.
- Work with engineering, IT, and DevOps engineers to design and develop infrastructure tools as needed to support processes such as build processes, continuous integration, automated testing, application deployment, and so forth.
- Experience designing and building software tools, tooling applications, and systems to support various engineering activities.
- Experience with integrating divergent applications and developing complex tool chains and infrastructure and use them.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages such as C/C, Java, Python, and web centric languages (e g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP).
- Strong background in object-oriented programming and demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, reliable, and optimized code.
- Experience in researching and evaluating various software applications, libraries, and other third-party products to determine their fitness for purpose as a tool or part of a tool suite.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, the build process, build tools, and integrating various tools to improve the build process and CI/CD workflow.
- Extensive experience with the Linux operating system and Linux scripting.
- Experience using version control systems Git and GitLab.
- Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- “Out of the box” thinker who is details-oriented possessing excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple competing projects and tasks concurrently in a fast paced, high growth, dynamic environment.
- 5 or more years as a Software engineer with 2 or more years developing software tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
