Publixs Information Services (I/S) department is located in Lakeland, Florida and Alpharetta, Georgia and employs over 1000 associates. I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Point of Sale Application Delivery team is seeking a Senior and Lead Software Engineers to design and develop systems for multiple efforst. In this position you will work with a cross-functional team, focused on collaboration, innovative designs, and delivering high-quality solutions to support Publixs goal of being the premier quality food retailer in the world. Responsibilities include:
- Building an in-depth knowledge of how Publix operates and the needs of the business areas we support
- Assisting in defining the architecture being used for the point-of-sale
- Designing and developing enterprise level information systems using modern technology and techniques
- Evaluating modern technology and helping to determine how it fits within our evolving solutions
- Mentoring and coaching up-and-coming software engineers
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- designing, developing, and delivering enterprise level applications
- analyzing and translating complex business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership
- leveraging appropriate design patterns and SOLID development principles
- Minimum of three years' experiencedeveloping and supporting enterprise applications using .NET Core/.NET 6.0
- Nine or more years experience in all other required qualifications above in addition to experience with:
- retail concepts and related software
- developing applications in an agile framework such as scrum or extreme programming
- Advanced knowledge of
- Angular
- Azure DevOps
- Kubernetes
- Kafka
- Test Driven Development (TDD)
