Publixs Information Services (I/S) department is located in Lakeland, Florida and Alpharetta, Georgia and employs over 1000 associates. I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Warehousing Modernization team is building a strong team of analysts and integrators to modernize our legacy warehouse management system (WMS) that support our growing distribution network.
- Leading critical initiatives to develop and implement complex systems, both in-house develop and packaged software, by overseeing full systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Serving as a liaison between business subject matter experts (SME) and technical teams to translate business requests into project system requirements
- Conducting interviews with business SMEs to understand, model, negotiate, specify, and validate business requirements
- Documenting business and technical requirements using Microsoft Office 365 technologies (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Approving design of complex technical solutions while collaborating with architects, engineers and technical resources
- Analyzing and translating business requirements into technology solutions that consider system architecture, performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies and scalability
- Collaborating and coordinating large, cross platform releases with business SMEs and technical teams
- Ensuring adherence to security best practices and standards for various platforms
- Performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Providing advanced analysis and guidance for multiple systems serving as warehousing systems SME
- Collaborating and communicating with IT management on project and resource planning, including effort estimation
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other analytical disciplines or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience analyzing supply chain business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions with functional knowledge of receiving, shipping, inventory and labor management
- 5+ years of experience working with enterprise database management system (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Teradata)
- Experience leading full development life cycle projects interacting with IT and business SMEs to support system implementations and enhancements and ensure project progresses on schedule while effectively communicating with management, stakeholders, SMEs and project team members
- Experience promoting collaboration and teamwork across enterprise, leading by example and contributing to the productivity and morale of the team
- Experience identifying and supporting process improvements
- Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
- Expert knowledge and experience working with warehousing systems software packages (e.g. Manhattan, JDA, Infor, SAP, High Jump) and working with business and technical audiences
- 7+ years experience leading enterprise implementation project solutions
- Experience in SCRUM and Agile systems development life cycles projects
- 5+ years of coding experience leveraging .Net framework, VB.Net, C#, Angular or Python with a passion for and knowledge of emerging technologies
- Experience working with Microsofts SSIS and SSRS applications
- Experience and knowledge of project and problem management, change management, and other I/S processes
- Experience supporting data and process governance of distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards and SOX requirements
