The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. Mobile App Automation Engineer will join a fast-paced team of 10 testers who safeguard and deliver quality assured development through manual testing of the Publix Website and Mobile app. The ideal candidate will be experienced creating test automation frameworks for Native Mobile Applications for iOS and Android. The focus of this position is to develop and lead the App automation effort for our Publix Mobile App. We seek someone who has experience with:

  • Writing automation scripts for Native Mobile Applications for iOS and Android platforms using Appium/ Selenium
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes
  • Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) e.g., Cucumber

Daily activities will include: Test Planning - Determine which app automation framework works best for the automation needs of the team and then develop strategies and plans for approval from the QA manager.Provide estimates and task lists for the automation testing activities within projects. Test Analysis - Work with the SCRUM team to understand user stories for the project.Review user stories and design specifications to define the automation test scenarios to be developed and executed for the project. Test Case Creation -Design of the manual and automation high level test cases in a BDD format based on user stories. Testing Execution and script writing - Execute manual tests based on user stories. Determine automation candidates and code the automation scripts for iOS/ Android that can be executed in a CICD pipeline. Collaborate with the App QA team on issue debugging. Determine automated Regression scope for each release. Verify testing results and accurately track defects. Perform feature and regression testing in Staging and Production lifecycle. Participate in defect tracking and problem-determination throughout the feature development life cycle. Testing Regression - Determine automated Regression scope for each release by working closely with the manual App testers.
  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences or a related analytical discipline, or four years equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a web application development environment.
  • Minimum 5 years experience doing test analysis, execution planning, and test case development
  • Minimum 3 years of experience coding in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C#.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in QA automation using Selenium WebDriver.
  • 1+ year experience source control tools such a GIT, TFS.
  • 1+ year experience writing test scripts using BDD such as Cucumber/ SpecFlow Gherkin.
  • 1+ year experience using a web-based development tracking tool for managing identified bugs and defects, such as JIRA, Azure DevOps.
  • 1+ year experience working on an agile/scrum development team
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to interact successfully with various team members and management
  • Presentation ability to demonstrate recent changes during Sprint Reviews and team meetings.
  • Experience creating automated test scripts for RESTful APIs with Postman
  • Three years of experience with C# unit testing framework like exNUnit, xUnit, MSTest, and/or open source test tool like Jasmine for testing Javascript , or similar test frameworks like Mocha, QUnit, Jest, or Unit.js.
  • Experience with Mobile site test automation on mobile devices.
  • Experience using Cross-Platform testing solutions (BrowserStack, SevTestLabs, CrossBrowserTesting.com etc.)
