I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Manufacturing Applications Team is seeking a Systems Analyst who will play a key role interacting with enterprise teams to design and develop solutions using diverse technologies to support manufacturing and industrial applications. Further duties include analyzing and translating business requirements into technology solutions, performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences. Over time, the candidate is expected to become the expert on assigned applications to support project analysis, business area inquiries and mentorship of other associates. The candidate must be able to maintain a consistently large, and dynamic work load; assist others with day-to-day direction for technical guidance; lead and manage implementation activities such as change management, implementation planning and pilot monitoring; and participate in production support activities. The most suitable candidate for this position will have technical background with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing and presentation skills and one who has the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors and business area customers Further details will include:

  • Work closely with management on project planning, resource allocation and vendor management
  • Lead and manage a team on small-to-large efforts across all aspects of the SDLC
  • Communicate effectively with business team members
  • Document current and proposed business processes and/or business rules
  • Proactively communicate with management and the team on issues and/or any system changes
  • Serve as an application expert on assigned application(s)
  • Maintain a consistently large and dynamic workflow
  • Ensuring adherence to security best practices and standards for various platforms
  • Participate in an on-call production support rotation
The most suitable hire for this position will be a candidate with full development life cycle experience with distributed development, project leadership experience implementing solutions, and systems and data analytic experience identifying and solving business problems.   • Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical disciplines or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience designing, developing, or testing business applications
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting vendor developed applications
  • Minimum of5 years IT experience planning and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed environment
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Minimum 5 years IT experience working with enterprise database management system (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Teradata)
  • Minimum 5 years IT experience working with Windows based servers, workstations and devices
  • Experience leading projects interacting with IT and business SMEs to support system implementations and enhancements and ensure project progresses on schedule while effectively communicating with management, stakeholders, SMEs and project team members
  • Experience promoting collaboration and teamwork across enterprise, leading by example and contributing to the productivity and morale of the team
  • Experience identifying and supporting process improvements
  • Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
  • Minimum 7 years IT experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions
  • 4+ four years with LINUX Red Hat based applications
  • Development experience with the .NET framework 4.5 or Java
  • Development experience with LINUX / UNIX shell scripting, or PowerShell scripting
  • Development experience with mobile applications
  • Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with performance tuning of queries and stored procedures in SQL Server Management Studio using indexes
  • Experience with delivery using the Agile / Scrum delivery methodology.
