I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The most suitable hire for this position will be a candidate who is articulate and can demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and time management skills. The associate in this position will:

  • Partner with IT Delivery Managers, Senior IT Managers, and IT Directors to identify, plan, and monitor the delivery of projects and programs
  • Partner with project leaders to develop, examine, and adjust project planning; working throughout the effort to ensure budgets, timelines, and scope are being managed properly
  • Evaluate, adjust, and share project information to support good decision-making and accurate reporting of status, schedule, and budget
  • Ascertain and provide the appropriate level of guidance, influence, and assistance for novice, emerging, and experienced project leaders executing projects of varied complexity
  • Maintain and provide accurate and thorough program-level effort and budget management for large, multi-faceted initiatives
  • Understand, and facilitate adherence to, both required and recommended processes that enable project delivery (e.g., information protection, hardware/software procurement, access, supplemental contracting)
  • Identify and examine risks and issues; raising awareness, providing advice, and taking appropriate corrective action to reduce or eliminate impact to projects
  • Advocate and enable teams in developing and leveraging the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint sites for collaboration
  • Foster and maintain cooperative relationships with other IT groups
  • Develop and employ strategies and techniques that minimize the effort of maintaining task-level information necessary to evaluate project and portfolio performance.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Communications or other analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years experience in the IT Industry in an analytical role, with responsibility for planning and executing projects
  • Knowledge of systems development and project management methodologies; and how they are employed to successfully deliver
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with peers, managers, customers, and vendor partners
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
  • Competent determining priority and managing time and quality in the execution of multiple concurrent projects and assignments
  • Ability to be flexible and handle stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Able to work with minimal supervision within a large corporate environment
  • Experience leveraging software tools designed to plan, execute, and monitor IT portfolios and projects, e.g., Clarity/Open Workbench, Microsoft Project / Project Server
  • Experience with financial management including project budgets and temporary services across multiple projects, QDP financial tracking, OCP financial tracking
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and Azure Dev Ops
  • Knowledge of EFT Payment processing
  • Knowledge of PCI rules and regulations
  • Experience and knowledge of problem management, change management, and other I/S processes
