TSG Production Services team
  • Maintains a secure and stable production environment for the Bank and

Role Description: The Principal, Production Services Infrastructure Support, has primary responsibility to ensure availability, stability, scalability and performance of database servers that supports BNY Mellon-s Digital Platform and Applications. This role requires senior database platform administrator on MongoDB and DB2(UNIX) experience in installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, upgrade, performance troubshooting experience to provide scalable and stable applications to meet critical business requirements of high availability and performing environment

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot new software systems at the cutting edge of distributed database technology and deliver large scale systems that will have an impact on revenue growth on our business and competitive position.
  • Provide MongoDB Database administration with 3 nodes or more cluster configuration, implementation of scalable sharing for larger data requirements
  • Experience with designing and implementation high availability applications using MongoDB and managing database failover requirements
  • Manage and configure monitoring rules with Mongo Ops Manager
  • Database Administration of DB2 (UNIX) with monitoring, configuration, upgrade and patching tasks
  • Implemented automation of operational tasks using Shell scripts/Perl/Python
  • Provide incident management, deployment management and business continuity requirements of database servers
  • Should have strong knowledge of MongoDB and DB2 backup & Recovery practices adheres to organizational security standards.
  • Implementation of adequate levels of auditing & reviewing database audit logs
  • Proven track record for vulnerability remediation
  • Knowledge on products like Gaurdium , Qualys & Orion

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required, advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10- 12+ years of experience.
  • Five or more years of MongoDB database administration involving installation, configuration, patching, upgrade, security configuration and performance tuning
  • Five or more years of DB2 (UNIX) database administration involving installation, configuration, patching, upgrade, security configuration and performance tuning
  • Experience with configuration and managing MongoDB using Mongo Ops Manager
  • Experience with either Sybase ASE or PostgreSQL would be a plus
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure, with an understanding of UNIX/LINUX Operating systems, Storage and network administration.
  • Experience supporting and implementing advanced, strategic database management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Agile development and implement automated process to improve database system reliability.
  • Proven ability to provide high availability, operations supportability and scalability to a high volume, rapidly growing world class eCommerce business.
  • Direct experience in working within the database administration teams for large-scale enterprise that are highly scalable and reliable.
  • Technical acumen in implementation and support of the core database services that are highly reliable, flexible, scalable and cost effective.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills.

Designs, implements, integrates, and provides full support for complex software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment. Maintains and supports moderately complex infrastructure environments. Performs complex troubleshooting as a subject matter expert. Works to ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting setup. Leads root cause analysis and problem management for complex problems to address underlying technical issues. Collaborates with business and application development stakeholders. Lead production readiness reviews for new releases and validate the supportability of changes prior to introduction into production, Lead production readiness reviews and PTO controls for new releases and projects.Analyzes system requirements. Reviews and evaluates plans for major projects and initiatives to ensure they meet system needs.Coordinates the monitoring of major changes to infrastructure environment. Analyzes the most complex issues that arise.Collaborates with infrastructure engineering, quality assurance, app support for capacity monitoring & instrumentation. Creation of architectural diagrams and design specifications to aid , implements, and maintains automation toolsets for configuration management, infrastructure and application deployment processes. Complex Incident, Problem Management & Troubleshooting.Maintains business and operations relationships to ensure business needs are addressed. Interface with other technology groups including Application Development and Support.May mentor or provide guidance for junior team members.Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.
