Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer tojoin our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. This is a dual level requisition that can be offered at either the Principal Cyber Systems Engineer OR Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer title and level based upon the chosen candidates education, experience, and skillset. Essential Functions: The selected Cyber Systems Engineer will have experience with information assurance or cybersecurity implementations based on DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, policies, and guidelines. The role is responsible for systems engineering/cybersecurity engineering duties throughout the systems engineering lifecycle. Candidates should have demonstrated academic and/or work experience in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: systems, network, software, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or data systems. The chosen candidate will have the ability and experience to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and significantly diverse assignments.

  • Requirements development and analysis
  • Preparation of technical documents
  • Interface with other functional areas and internal management with a focus on program execution and mission assurance
  • Use of Risk Management Framework and systems engineering methodologies and techniques for completion of cyber security engineering duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of relevant engineering experience OR PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience working in software and hardware development environments inclusive of the development, management and decomposition of requirements
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and requirements development from controls
  • Proficient knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • An active, in-scope DoD Secret level security clearance (or above)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet program objectives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced STEM degree in engineering or software
  • Expert level knowledge with the RMF lifecycle including creation of ATO artifacts
  • Possess a DoD 8570 certification: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar
  • Experience working on military aircraft/spacecraft systems
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo or other similar system modeling tools
  • Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements (DOORS experience a plus)
  • Network security engineering, cryptography, secure software architectures, cross-domain solutions, reverse engineering
  • Experience developing cybersecurity architectures
