This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As part of a hardworking team of of experts, you will be responsible for leading cost initiatives across all elements of the New Glenn Program. This includes estimates of design cost opportunities/risks, DFx feedback, and identification of new technologies to reduce recurring costs. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Build detailed cost models for a variety of fabrication processes.
  • Identify manufacturing feedback for the various Blue Origin programs.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain Strategy to inform supplier negotiations.
  • Plan and execute cost reduction ideas to identify and drive implementation of cost savings.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of direct experience with aerospace fabrication
  • Experience with aerospace component development
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs
  • Demonstrated track record of success in Design for Manufacturability
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Desired:
  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Materials engineering
  • Experience developing complex estimating/pricing models and cost management tools
  • Strong data analytics skills.
  • Master s in Engineering, Business Administration, Cost Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or other related business field.

Job #2 Project Estimators: As part of a hardworking team of of experts, you will be responsible for cost estimating your area of expertise across all Blue Origin programs. Your efforts will support design-for-manufacture studies and inform supplier negotiations. You will be supporting cost-reduction ideas throughout the company. The duties will include the opportunity to shape the future of our estimating practices for decades to come. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of direct experience estimating one or more of the following types of aerospace components: Wire Harnesses OR Printed Circuit Boards OR Composite parts
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs
  • Demonstrated track record of success in Design for Manufacturability feedback for engineering
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Desired:
  • 2+ years of estimating components for the Aerospace or Space industry
  • Experience developing complex estimating software tools/methods
  • Experience incorporating lessons learned from past estimates into future models
  • Strong data analytics skills.
