Location: Miami, FL Description: Job Summary:
SQL Server Application DBA is required to support our development, stage, and testing SQL Server databases. The SQL Server Application DBA will be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, replicating, and backup/restore of multiple, single-tenant SQL Server instances. An ideal candidate will have a background working closely with developers to ensure the optimal performance of large operational databases with significant experience in reviewing stored procedures, identifying performance bottlenecks, and mitigating issues related to large DML operations.Primary Responsibilities:• Maintaining legacy databases and stored procedures; identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks; and managing/maintaining maintenance jobs for non-production environments• Installing new SQL Server instances, performing health checks, and troubleshooting issues• Optimizing concurrent processing in a large OLTP environment as it relates to performance of stored procedures• Other responsibilities include tracing/profiling, performance optimization, correcting poorly performing SQL, analyzing database wait events, and as needed, adjusting database parameters• Modeling and designing database structures for new application databases.Qualifications:• 4+ years of SQL Server administration experience• 4+ years writing T-SQL and stored procedure coding• Write, execute, and validate DML, DDL, and DCL scripts to meet business and customer needs.• Assist Customer Support and Development by analyzing data to troubleshoot application issues.• BS CE, or CS or similar work experience• Expert-level working knowledge of SQL, SQL Server database architecture, and maintenance jobs• Working experience in multiple versions of SQL Server 2012+• Experience authoring, refactoring, and optimizing stored procedures and functions and performance tuning• Ability to work with developers and other Engineering specialist to set up, maintain, and monitor application data tier• Experience with server installation and maintenance on-prem and in the cloud• Working knowledge of SSRS and SSIS• Develop PowerShell scripts, C# .NET utilities, and other automation to support operations management a plus• Familiarity with database management best practicesDuration:- 6month contract + Possibility of extensions and/or full-time hireLocation:- Onsite hybrid model in Miami office (TBD how many days a week)Interview Process:- 1-2 roundsContact: This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
