Responsibilities: The Product Quality Testing divides the time performing various roles for the Product Quality Department:

(1) Develops and executes test plans to ensure all basic functionality is met. (2) Implements and executes test plans to assess functionality. (3) Recommends and implements preventive and corrective actions. (4) Manage device related defects post backend release. (5) Daily checks and updates to the QA defect reporting tool. (6) Manage the storage and disposal of all post-TA units. (7) Perform ad-hoc activities to support departmental efforts.

Responsibilities/Duties

60 % Validation and Testing

  • Performs validation of product to ensure correct specifications are met.
  • Performs pre-testing and evaluation of SIMs/handsets for functional specifications and features prior to APT commencement.
  • Completes the readiness checklist for samples to ensure that they are ready to be used when distributed. This includes initial activation, SIM marriage confirmation, carrier load confirmation and any other adhoc component that may be necessary for the device testing.

15% Daily checks and updates to the QA defect reporting tool

  • Review and analyze defects and drive them to resolution.
  • Communicate as needed with internal and external parties to manage defects.
  • Provide summaries as needed of on-going progress.

15% Manage device related defects post backend release

  • Review and analyze defects and summarize in a report for PDG management.
  • Work with engineering and/or the pre-lab certification team for OEM submittal.
  • Follow up on confirmed defect to closeout.

10% Manage the storage and disposal of units

  • Inventory storage and organization.
  • Quarterly disposal of inventory according to PDG policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

List the minimum experience required to perform this job. • Required: Good communication skills; computer literacy; ability to use cellular phones; and capability of working independently and as a team member. Good organizational skills. • Preferred: Some Clerical/office experience or some Quality Control experience.

List minimum of reasoning ability and special skills including language, technical and mathematical required to perform this job. • Ability to define problems, collect required data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses and be able to solve issues and bring solutions • Ability to perform their duties with no more than reasonable supervisory supervision. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. • Detailed oriented individual with ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly • Demonstrated knowledge in MS Excel/Word. • Excellent written and oral communication in English (Spanish is a plus) • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and get the job done by working through established processes while recognizing when to escalate and when not.
