What is the Ascension St Vincent's RN Residency Program?

The Ascension St Vincent's Acute Inpatient Transition to Practice RN Residency is a robust, evidence-based residency designed for new graduate nurses to reach the following goals in one of our units:

Successfully bridge the academic preparation to clinical practice gap

Become a confident and competent professional nurse.

Achieve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for safe, quality care.

Transition to a nursing professional in a faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare organization that provides person-centric service throughout the care continuum.

Clay County 32 private beds including patient rehab gymnasium. 3 North is a medical surgical/telemetry unit, designated as an Orthopedic Center of Excellence. Our patient care technicians are able to assist our nurses in caring for general medical and post surgical procedures including: post cardiac cath care, thyroidectomies, gynecological surgeries, wound care, bariatric surgery, total joint procedures, and gastrointestinal surgeries.

Additional Job Details: Rotating Days/Nights

Start Dates: October 3rd and November 14thFull-Time

Rotating Days/Night Shift available

Program Breakdown:

Week 1 - ROC/ One Team Orientation

Week 2-4 - Novex Virtual Learning modules

Week 5-10/12 - 3 twelve hour shifts, precepted with preceptor

Additional Task Mastery shifts, skills training

3x 12 hour schedule

4 hours a month classroom education and monthly journaling

Educator will round with you weekly for the first 12 weeks then monthly after that

Evidence-based project at the end of Residency

Work commitment based on bonus structure you choose, work commitment begins day 1 of program

RequirementsLicensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
