The Medical Education department based in Naples, Florida is made up of over 20 physicians and physician assistants and a large support staff. Over the past few years we have developed significant educational content covering a wide range of topics in orthopedic surgery. This content is fully open to anyone at OrthoPedia.com. Our ideal candidate for the position of Medical Education Digital Systems Manager would need to share our passion for excellence in professional education, subscribe to principles of leadership through service, and be ready to change the world.

Main Objective: As a Manager of Digital Medical Education Systems, you will lead a team to define and execute the vision of the Medical Education Departments digital ecosystem. The Manager of Medical Education Digital Systems works closely with key Medical Education and Arthrex leadership stakeholders, design and development teams and Arthrex business partners to deliver and maintain innovative solutions that provide value for our internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain innovative medical education digital products and services that deliver delightful customer experiences.
  • Understand educational needs and customer/user requirements in depth.
  • Drive new customer adoption of Arthrex digital medial education systems and programs.
  • Manage existing Arthrex digital medial education systems customer relations and user experiences.
  • Serve as the Medical Education business lead for product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production, release, execution, enhancement and long-term maintenance.
  • Identify educational opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy for Medical Educations digital platform and APIs.
  • Communicate long-term digital product vision and strategy to relevant participants and stakeholders.
  • Perform platform analysis, strategy, and research and development functions.
  • Establish project plans and scope of work for digital education platform designs and enhancements.
  • Design experiments and analyze data to take on challenging problems and deliver insights.
  • Identify customer needs through customer research and insights.
  • Drive product strategy and direction that that translates into high customer value.
  • Run effective beta programs and collect continuous customer feedback.
  • Advise leadership on data-driven business decisions to increase product adoption.
  • Benchmark current and future processes against best industry practices.
  • Responsible for the support, guidance and professional growth of those employees under your managment.
  • Up to 20% travel required.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, MBA or other advanced technical degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years experience required within a business function (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Distribution., Finance, HR or Engineering) with digital product management, business analytics or digital business process improvement activity.
  • 5+ years experience required in a leadership role with one or more direct report employees.
  • Expertise leading cross-functional teams that together launch and maintain web or mobile software product offerings is preferred.
  • Experience using a web design system such as Material UI or similar is preferred.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS services or Google Cloud is preferred.
  • Previous position in Pharma or Medical Device industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience with management of Learning Management Systems is preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
  • Commitment to the concept of leadership by service.
  • Able to develop and maintain digital products at scale.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build. strong, productive relationships.
  • In depth knowledge of Program Management Office functions and practices. PMP certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power-BI is preferred.
  • Proficiency with HTML Coding and other common web protocols is preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical orthopedics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of human-centered design is preferred.
  • Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
  • PC and various and specialized software.
  • Computer proficiency in all Microsoft office applications required.
